Barakah Women - Modern | Sophisticated | Modest

Thursday, February 12, 2015

Baraka - an Australia designed and owned company catering to both hijabi and non hijabi women who appreciate modesty AND class. It's minimalist ethos really translates well for the contemporary modest woman as it allows for style "wiggle room". Whether you want to keep things simple and sleek or add your little touches of jewellery and layering here and there, Baraka clothing gives you the opportunity to make up your own mind.

Here I am wearing the double breasted linen jacket which is designed to be oversized so you can button it up and wear it as a tunic or leave it open. It's gorgeous tone really does appeal to my recent obsession with neautrals and the fact that it's 100% linen gives it a 5 star rating.

If you are like me and love oversized tops then you will definitely love this jacket. Just make sure your bottoms are slim and not obnoxiously elaborate.

You can buy this jacket and many more stunning pieces from the Baraka website. Go directly to the DB Linen Jacket, visit their Instagram page and visit their FB.

  2. I just love everything about this outfit. Mashallah. where is the top from if you don't mind me asking? I can only ever find tops like that from Inayah and it's a little bit out of my price range.

  5. Salaam, I love your style and your take on modest dressing is right up my street. However, as much as I love your posts such as this one featuring statement jackets/trenches etc, it is usually your basic under layer that catches my attention. It really does look like the perfect piece, in length, comfort, full sleeves, and of course, my favourite basic block colour: black! I would love to know where you get these pieces from. If you have them tailor made, what material would you recommend for ultimate versatility and comfort? (you never look wrinkled mA) Wasalaam x

    1. Aww thank you so much, the black slip that I wear 99% of the time is actually sleeveless and made of a beautiful silk. I am dreading the day it dies from overuse lol. It is such a versatile piece that I probably should have a few tailored in more neutral colours. I had bought this from a store called Arthur Galan here in Australia and I am still on the lookout for similar styles. I would definitely recommend a very thin

    2. Fabric that flows rather then a stuff cotton. You want it to blend seamlessly with all your clothing. Hope this helps and thanks for your comment! Xxxx
