Orange Paradise ~ Wahat Aljalabiya

Wednesday, November 20, 2013

I have been sent many kaftans over the years to style and review. They have all been beautiful and very elegant to wear for special occasions but in all honesty (and I mean this in absolute truth) I have never loved and admired a kaftan a much as this Orange Paradise by the world renowned label Wahat Aljalabiya.
It's chiffon fabric is light and excellent quality and printed with the most delicious earthy tones of burnt orange, green, bright orange and lilac.

Its design is genius, a very modest cut with voluminous sleeves which are gathered at the front to a  faux belt and then cascades down to the floor in soft pleats.

The beaded 'belt' at the front is held down with hidden ties beneath the kaftan so you are in charge of how loose or fitted you want the kaftan to be on you.

The neckline and waist is heavily decked out in stunning glass beads and gems in similar tones to the kaftan so although it is extremely bedazzled, they are not obnoxious or gaudy at all. They work excellently with the kaftan to give it a classy edge.

I love the way Wahat Aljalabiya never overlook the fine detail. Take a look at how adorable the cuffs look with the thin line of white rhinestones. Needless to say it looks AMAZING under artificial light making it glitter and sparkle.

The back of the kaftan is very loose and flows beautifully. It also features this adorable circle of beads to hold it up so it doesn't drag on the floor.

All of Wahat Aljalabiya kaftans are cut very generously, this kaftan is a size medium and fits perfectly.

  1. Abla, I am LA-HUVVING the new blog layout, very chic and clean and still feminine with lovely font. I have to say you are very bold to wear such a fusion of colours! Email back soon and I can tell about the part-AY. I bought some really cool eye-shadow pencils (pixiwoo reccomended) that are seriously going to shave time off getting ready and seem very good quality, waterproof too! :) L xx.

  2. AA siss, what happened to your posts where you talk about work(ing in school!), your son, family...and doing it all with panache. I think what drew a lot of us to your blog is seeing all of this accomplished in real time by a bona fide Muslim woman. Yes, you get free stuff and that's cool but make it more relateable to your 2000+ followers. Say "this post is sponsored by" and talk about life, encourage us, humor us as you used to as you model and wear all the beautiful dresses...I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. xoxox Diana from USA

    1. Aleikum Salam! Thank you so much for your honesty I really appreciate it. I can agree with your comment for the most part as the change in my post styles that you mentioned were intentional. A while ago I became really insecure about how personal I was becoming. The thought of over sharing with so many people really started to make me feel uncomfortable so I made a conscious effort not to do that anymore. I wanted more of a purely fashion platform, so that even if there were no words, there would be style inspiration. I do agree that many of my wonderful followers came to me for more then just fashion and I do feel sad I can't indulge them anymore. I can however tell you I no longer work so I can't talk about that anymore :( I also agree my review posts are starting to become stale and repetitive which is why I have started to space them out with personal style posts in between. I have taken everything you have said on board and I will try my absolute best to try to emulate my older posts! (because you said everything so nicely and without malice :) I have also enlisted a bunch of awesome writers who will guest blog about a variety of different topics all relatable to modern Muslim women inshallah. Please email me using the contact me tab above if you would like to chat about this any further. Your input is very appreciated. Lots of love HR xxxx
