Turkish Flick with My Modefa

Saturday, August 10, 2013

Have you seen the new(ish) hijab trend in Turkey where they girls wear beautiful pure silk shawl hijabs and flick the ends over their shoulders? I absolutely love the look and have tried it myself countless times. It works especially well if you are wearing a loose oversized top so that it still looks modest. If you are not wearing a loose top then you can tweak the look like I have. To achieve either looks you will need the extra long silk hijabs like the one I am wearing. This hijab was sent to me from the US based company My Modefa (click here and here for my last two review) - this time a yummy dual toned dusty rose silk Aker shawl. One side is a deep shade of dusty mauvish rose and the other side is a much lighter version of the same shade. The ends are decked in tassels which add much more flair to the flick. To achieve chest coverage, you need to make the flick side much longer so that you can pin the shorter side over your chest.

What I love most about these silk shawls is that you can wear it both summer and winter. As it is a natural fibre, it is thick enough for winter and keeps you warm, but it is also suitable for summer as silk breathes unlike synthetic hijabs.

Don't forget to pay My Modefa a visit by clicking on the banner ------->  this is your one stop Turkish hijab shop! Also don't forget to use the unique Code for a discount!

For the final day of Eid I went really casual with this funky black midi dress. It has drapes of fabric all over it to create a really unique look.

My absolute favourite necklace. It is so beautiful and strange it actually looks like it glows from within.

  4. Gorgeous style! The short end, is it tucked or pinned and hidden? Or is it also hanging over your right shoulder? Couldn't tell from the pics and I'm going to experiment with my Neva shawls and silk shawls to get this look. Thanks for posting :)
