Melbourne Souq Featuring Dian Pelangi

Sunday, May 19, 2013

I recently attended a fantastic event called the Melbourne Souq featuring local Melbourne talent as well as international celebrities. Organised by YIMSA, this event was designed to bring young Indonesians living in Australia together as well as unite all Muslims here in Melbourne together. The main attraction of the event was of course the beautiful Dian Pelangi and her gorgeous designs. This is the second time I have had the pleasure of viewing her collection and meeting the talented designer herself.
I took photos with my camera but my computer at home is so stuffed up (overheats within ten minutes of turning it on) that I can't even be bothered dealing with it. So here are some pictures I took with my phone. Not bad eh?
I was lucky enough to get backstage access so I snapped a few candid shots of the beautiful models looking fine!

You all know I love the 1920's, and this 20's inspired floral abayaesque jacket is right up my alley. I loved the drape and over sized sleeves. I forgot to take a picture of the special details on the sleeves and along the front of the abaya. Inshallah next time I wear it I will surely take a picture.

  1. I love what you are wearing, as always... mashaallah :) and I'm so upset I missed out on this event. The photos are lovely!
