O.K so I did have a competition going on but someone kindly reminded me that drawings are Haram (I knew this but somehow I failed to remember and still created this competition!) I cannot believe I forgot and I am sorry from the bottom of my heart. I do not want any of you to get into Haram for drawing and I definitely do not want to get into Haram for asking you so the competition to DRAW is cancelled but if you want to create a picture by manipulating a photo of mine on photoshop then that is fine and you can still send it in to me. I am so sorry for doing this to all of you and I feel terrible! I just don't want to be asked about this and have no answer to give..

Hey dearest! When is it due, how large does it have to be, color or black and white, do you need a physical copy or a scan. I can draw my butt off but I rarely do cartoons :). If the time is right I might give it a go.

ukhti to draw someone is wrong on the day of judgement Allah swt will ask everyone who drew anything Allah created with a soul to blow soul into them. Obviously they won't be able to. There is a hadith on this. Pls change your competition!

Just a little perspective: drawing/art is not haram. I've heard it before, but really, what is the justification behind it? Some say it's haram because people who draw act as if they are God in that they are 'creating.' But most artists/ drawers view this as a talent, a hobby, a way to express themselves...not as if they are playing God (astaghfirallah!).
People will say loads of things are haram. I've heard it all: pink hijab is haram, listening to music is haram, jeans are haram, wearing scents is haram...HARAM, HARAM, HARAM!!
Everyone is free to have their own opinion, but when we hear something is haram, we should think about why it is haram (ex. alcohol is haram b/c it is harmful).
